Working with Me
It can be embarrassing to ask for help organizing your home. You’ve got paper piles, overflowing spaces, and closets and kitchens that need downsizing, yet you’re unable to motivate yourself to start taking action.
You feel so alone but let me assure you, you aren’t.
Since 2002, I’ve supported clients through their downsizing journeys and helped them find peace.
I’m your nonjudgmental, compassionate, professional organizer who wants to help you take action, rediscover spaces you’ve lost to clutter, find homes for things you treasure, and feel better about yourself.
You may feel embarrassed by your clutter and chaos -- which is completely normal -- but clutter doesn’t bother me. If it did, I would have chosen another career. I specialize in downsizing and organizing your paper and mail piles, kitchen, and closets, but I work in any area that's bothering you and holding you back from living the life you want to live.
You'll end up feeling relieved and happy that you asked for help. You'll have a cleaner, more streamlined home; you'll get more done (we're a team), and you'll have more time to do the things you want to do.
My in-person services are available in the Madison, Wisconsin, area and its surrounding communities. I also offer phone coaching anywhere. Click here to download a PDF with my professional organizing rates

I offer two options for working together:
More details about the organizing process
During a hands-on, in-person session, I'll arrive at your home ready to provide judgment-free support. We'll begin in the area of your choice, or I'll offer guidance on where to start.
We'll start making decisions about the objects in that area -- whether to keep, recycle, or donate them -- and find homes for items you keep. I can also help you find places to donate and recycle the items you don't want to keep.
I'll be by your side to provide direction when you feel stuck.
We'll continue until your goals are met which may require more than one organizing session (of two to three hours each) if you wish. I can also provide a list of tasks to complete between our sessions if you want to continue working on your own.
An in-person empowering strategy session involves a walk-through of your home during which I'll answer your questions and provide step-by-step directions and suggestions that will help you to start and finish organizing and decluttering on your own. I'll also follow up with a phone call after a few weeks to answer your questions and provide that important facet of accountability.
Virtual (phone) empowering sessions are available if you live outside of my service area (in and near Madison, Wisconsin) or if you prefer to work on your own with occasional support. We'll discuss strategies and create a plan for you to follow. During each 45-minute phone session, we'll cover the organizing topic of your choice.
I do not judge you or the state of your home, and our work together is always absolutely confidential.

Clients have this to say about working with me:
"When I contracted to have you help me, I frankly felt a little silly. I kept telling myself, 'I know how to do this. I can do this.' But the mess had become an unsurpassable mountain of a mental block." -- Liz Z.
“Before I began working with Jill, I felt overwhelmed by my stuff, both at home and at work. Jill helped me through the difficult decisions and emotions of organizing many possessions, from treasures to clutter, and letting go of quite a few of them. Jill actually made this experience enjoyable, because of her sense of humor, kindness, understanding, and patience.” -- Kerry B.
“We had moved to a new home a few months ago and I was at an impasse. I had the essentials unpacked but couldn’t seem to get any further. I should be able to get organized by myself. But it just wasn't happening. Jill's great. She's supportive and nonjudgmental.” -- Nancy G.
