Your nonjudgmental, compassionate, organizing expert

Working with Me

It can be embarrassing to ask for help organizing your home.  You’ve got paper piles, overflowing spaces, closets, and kitchens that need downsizing yet you’re unable to motivate yourself to start taking action.

You feel so alone!

But let me assure you, you aren’t.

Since 2002, I’ve (Jill Annis) supported clients on their downsizing journey and helped them find peace.

I’m your nonjudgmental, compassionate, professional organizer who wants to help you take action, rediscover spaces you’ve lost to clutter, find homes for things you treasure and feel better about yourself.

You may feel embarrassed by your clutter and chaos, which is completely normal, but clutter doesn’t bother me.  If it did, I would have chosen another career.

You'll end up feeling relieved and happy you asked for help.  You'll have a cleaner home, get more done (we're a team) and have more time to do the things you want to do.

My in-person services are available in the Madison, Wisconsin area and its surrounding communities.  Phone coaching is also available.

Specializing in downsizing and organizing your paper/mail piles, kitchen, and closets.

If you are committed to making a change and are ready to downsize, let's start with a phone call: 608-575-7467.

I offer 3 options for working together:

Hands-on, In-person Organizing

What if you felt good about your home and wanted to have people over without feeling anxious?

Imagine having a nonjudgmental expert by your side to keep you motivated and focused.

You’ll have my support when you get overwhelmed.  We'll sort your things together.

I have great ideas and resources for donating and recycling things you no longer want to keep.

In-person Empowering Strategy Session

Suppose you knew exactly where and how to start organizing and cleaning up on your own.

Learn how to eliminate paper piles, declutter your closets so they were more functional, organize your kitchen so you could cook and entertain, and clear out years worth of stuff from your basement.

Picture yourself feeling better and energized after your nonjudgmental strategy session because you'll have direction.

Virtual (phone) Empowering Strategy Session

You’re on your way to a cleaner, more organized home after each phone session.

Imagine having someone really listen to you. When’s the last time that happened?  Without judgment!

Learn where to start and how to go about downsizing on your own. Receive a pep talk from a compassionate expert to help you move forward.

More details about the organizing process:

During a hands-on session,  I'll arrive at your home ready to provide judgment-free support.  We'll begin in the area of your choice or I'll offer guidance on the starting area.

We'll start making decisions about the things in the area (keep, recycle, donate) and find homes for items you keep.  I can help you find places to donate and recycle items you don't keep.

I'll be by your side to provide direction when you feel stuck.

We'll continue until your goals are met which may require more than one organizing session (2-3 hours each) if you choose.   I can provide a list of tasks to complete between our sessions if you want to continue working on your own.

A strategy session includes a walk-through of your home where I answer your questions and provide step-by-step directions for you to start and finish organizing/decluttering on your own.  I'll check in with a phone call, after a few weeks, to answer your questions and provide some accountability.

Virtual sessions are available if you live outside my service area (near Madison, WI) OR if you prefer to work on your own with occasional support. We'll discuss strategy and create a plan for you to follow. Each phone session is 45 minutes where we cover the organizing topic of your choice.

*No judgments will be made about the state of your home. Our work together is confidential.

Clients have this to say about working with me:

"When I contracted to have you help me, I frankly felt a little silly. I kept telling myself, "I know how to do this. I can do this."  But the mess had become a unsurpassable mountain of a mental block."  Liz Z.

“Before I began working with Jill, I felt overwhelmed by my stuff, both at home and at work.  Jill helped me through the difficult decisions and emotions of organizing many possessions, from treasures to clutter, and letting go of quite a few of them.  Jill actually made this experience enjoyable, because of her sense of humor, kindness, understanding, and patience.”  Kerry B.

“We had moved to a new home a few months ago and I was at an impasse.  I had the essentials unpacked but couldn’t seem to get any farther.  I should be able to get organized by myself.  But it just wasn't happening.  Jill's great.  She's supportive and nonjudgmental.” Nancy G.
