Weekend Mini-Organizing Challenge: Cookbooks

Need some organizing motivation and inspiration, or a gentle kick in the rear:) Subscribe to receive mini-organizing challenges several weekends a month. They will be automatically emailed to you so you won’t have to remember to visit the blog.

Mini-organizing challenges are doable and will focus on de-cluttering a tiny area of your home.  If the weekend challenge “speaks” to you, then set your timer for 30 minutes and start organizing/de-cluttering. Stop when the timer goes off and enjoy the rest of your weekend knowing that you accomplished something!  Of course you may continue organizing if you have gained the momentum your were looking for.

Mini-Challenge: Cookbooks

Cookbooks and cooking magazines can become clutter if they are not regularly thinned out.  Quickly evaluate your cooking resources this weekend, especially if they have outgrown their space or shelf.

If you find recipes you want to try, rip them out of the magazine and toss the rest of the issue.  Organize the loose recipes in a 3 ring binder.

I bet you have some cookbooks that container only one or two recipes you want to try or presently enjoy cooking. What if you copied the recipe and donated or sold the book?  Keep your favorite cookbooks; the ones you find you refer to most of the time.

Thin out your cooking resources until they all fit into (without cramming into) the designated space once again.
