Weekend Mini-Organizing Challenge: Create Space For a Home Workout

Need some organizing motivation and inspiration, or a gentle nudge?  Simply subscribe to my blog to receive mini-organizing challenges several weekends a month.  They will be automatically emailed to you so you won’t have to remember to visit the blog.

Mini-organizing challenges are doable and will focus on decluttering a tiny area of your home.   If the weekend challenge “speaks” to you, then set your timer for 30 minutes and start organizing/decluttering.  Stop when the timer goes off then enjoy the rest of your weekend knowing that you accomplished something!   Of course, you may continue organizing if you have gained the momentum you needed.

Mini-Challenge:  Create a Home Workout Space

I actually prefer home workouts because it means I save time by not driving to a gym and save money on membership fees.  Others are more motivated by a variety of gym workouts, have fun participating in   group classes, or like the equipment they offer.

If home workouts fit your lifestyle and you want to workout more consistently from your home, you may find that a dedicated space or nook will help you succeed.   I moved my exercise equipment (basically dumbells and a yoga mat) to my office. My floor space is adequate for a strength, cardio or yoga workout.  I typically start the day with a workout that I find on YouTube and end the day with a short yoga practice.

There are non-client days where I find I’m sitting too much at my computer.  My back becomes sore or I can’t sit still another second.  In those instances, I love how simple it is for me to change into workout clothing and get in some activity.

If working out at home has been a goal for you but the lack of a dedicated, clear space prevents you from achieving it, this is your challenge.  Spend 30 minutes carving out a workout area in your home or remove clothing and clutter from the treadmill so you can start using it once again.  Gather your equipment, determine which items are worth hanging onto and move them to one area.  You may find you’re able to squeeze a workout into your day when you have space and your equipment is accessible.
